About the Role:
Our customer is looking to hire a skilled demolition labourer to safely tear down old or unsound building structures. Responsabilities include loading and unloading debris and waste onto and off trucks, refilling excavated holes and ditches, as well as building and dismantling scaffolding and temporary structures. The ideal candidate should also establish exclusion zones around job sites to ensure the safety of bystanders and passers-by.
Other responsabilities include directing cars away from demolition job sites as required, signaling heavy equipment operators to ensure that heavy machinery and equipment are correctly positioned, performing maintenance on some of the tools, machinery and equipment used, assessing building structures to identify their structural components and determine the most efficient methods to perform demolitions.
Previous experience in demolishing of at least 2 years.
You should be able to safely operate hand and power tools as well as heavy machinery.
You should be able to effectively communicate with the team and perform all duties in accordance with demolition safety regulations.
Ideally you should be experienced with explosives down old or unsound structures.
You should be expected to examine job site surroundings to determine whether it is safe to perform demolishing task.
