About the Role:
Our customer is a start-up located in the lovely Wellington region with great track record of growth during the past months and with plenty of momentum for the time to come. Their star-product is infrared laser sensors and IoT data cameras to keep pedestrian workers safe around mobile industrial vehicles.
Due to the rapid international growth, their engineering team is looking for an electronics engineer with outstanding discrete component level PCB design skills. This is a full-time position reporting to the Head of engineering and with the expectations to become a leader as the company keeps growing.
The duties for the position include Circuit design, Schematics, and PCB layout in Altium, prototype assembly, hardware bring-up, validation, and testing, provide technical support to manufacturers in Thailand, and assisting with manufacturing jig hardware and software design and builds.
You must have a tertiary degree in Electronics Engineering or Software (or equivalent)
Discrete component level PCB design skills.
Solid experience with Altium or equivalent PCB design software.
Embedded firmware experience, particularly with RTOS-based systems.
Proficient in embedded C programming.
Track record of creating electronics hardware.
Experience in electro-optical and/or laser electronics would be desirable but is not essential.
